Cheer & Tumble Tyme was founded in 2006 by Treana Drost. Treana grew up in Albia and always had to travel for lessons as a child. When the opportunity came available to offer classes in Albia she jumped on it. The gym started off as strictly recreational and classes were held in a dance studio with only two panel mats. Since then local interest has sky rocketed and we've been able to grow. Each year as our numbers increase we've added more equipment and in 2009 we were forced to move to a larger building on our own. Interest in competing also grew and in 2010 both our tumbling and cheer programs started competing. In 2011 we were approached to expand into the Oskaloosa area and we are excited to offer classes to more kids in the area.
Ms Treana - Treana has over 10 years experience in coaching cheerleading, dance, gymnastics, & tumbling. In 2011 she finished her 9th & final year coaching at the Albia schools. In 2002 she began as an assistant for the Junior High program and then took over the HS program as Head Coach in 2006. Treana has also coached the Mahaska County YMCA All Star Cheer Program leading the youth squad to an undefeated season in 2005. In 2010 she worked with the WPU cheer squad leading them to a Midwest Regional Championship and 3rd Place at NCA/NAIA Collegiate Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida. She has coached students to 24 1st place victories, 66 top 3 places, and 17 national qualifiers in the 2 years that CTT has been competing in tumbling. Treana currently resides in Oskaloosa with her husband Matthew and son Kyler. Treana is a graduate of the Industrial Tech program at William Penn and a former Statesmen Cheerleader. She works full time as a Project Engineer for Musco Lighting and in her spare time enjoys spending time with family and taking fishing trips to Canada.
Ms Emmalee - Emmalee has taken tumbling and cheerleading from Treana and cheered under Treana in high school. She has taught tumbling and cheer for 3 years and has also assisted in coaching at the high school level. Emmalee has helped choreograph 1st place cheer routines in her short stint of coaching and has led many tumblers on to top placings at competition. In the past few years Emmalee has worked with occupational therapists of children with special needs to offer therapy through tumbling.
